A socket nipple is used for the following purposes:
A female connection that is too small and therefore cannot be screwed into a male connection.
This adapter nipple changes from a 1 ¼" male to a 1 ½" female thread. Ideal for connecting two screw couplings of a different size where the female connection is too small.
